Early Life

Born

He was born in Lalitpur to Minati Devi Shrestha and late Dil Bahadur Shrestha, in a politically influenced family in 1965.

Education

He did his schooling from Mount Hermon in Darjeeling and completed high school from St Joseph College in Darjeeling.

Business Beginnings

He started his business with an IT company called Himalayan Business system in 1990 AD.

Front-ranker, breaking new ground.

While working in software trading, he got an opportunity to meet Alan Durant, then President of Mahindra who was looking for distributor for Mahindra Vehicles in Nepal.

Mr. Shrestha was very enthusiastic about automobiles, and the opportunity fit his interest that led him to accept the offered distributorship. Initially he started an office in Kathmandu, as the first bricks of Agni Group, then established five more offices in Birgunj, Chitwan, Bhairahawa and other places. It is the result of his far sighted vision, Agni group has expanded to this extent with eight entities under this umbrella and marked its presence in more than 65 locations in Nepal. After 17 years of his dedication and patience, Agni group has finally reached a level that he had always wanted and worked for.

He has contributed not only in the development of Nation’s social and economic aspects but also in preserving environmental aspects.

This is one of the reason he introduced electric vehicles for the first time in Nepal that also helped Agni diversify its portfolio. Agni Group has a proven track record in multiple business ventures.

Mr. Shrestha considers the amalgamation of dedication, hard work, investment and discipline as the mantra of success.

He postulates that changing according to the demand of time is important and he does not fear in trying new things. Besides his passion towards work, most of his evenings are spent in social gatherings. He also loves to spend quality time with family and to explore national and international destinations. He is committed to attend office every day and enjoy what he does.
